CSE Mains Strategy Electrical Engineering
Syllabus coverage :
Most important thing is to cover the complete syllabus of EE CSE whole heartily. You can refer to portions of standard books mentioned by Prince Dhawan sir in his blog. This approach is exhaustive and put you in a more confident state. But this approach takes a lot of time. it will take around 14 months to prepare by this approach. Alternatively You can refer to printed study material of Made Easy. Since Made easy study material primarily targets ESE, You will have to be more selective. For example in Power electronics some topics are part of ESE but not of CSE, Be careful of that. Also some syllabus has to be covered from ESE electronics study material e.g. Digital communications. Throughout the process of syllabus coverage keep an eye on Syllabus mentioned in CSE notification. Dont try be master in EE, be professional as EE is just 2/7 part of the game 😉.
Questions practice:
There is no limit to it practically. Following are few things which should be on high priority. Apply this sequencely.
1. Thoroughly cover made easy printed solved previous year CSE papers for both papers.
2. Every fortnight one full length paper, pick a paper from previous years. Dont worry about questions being repeated from previous clause. You will see many questions repeated in final exam too. Make sure you solve at least previous 10 year CSE EE papers.
3. Solve previous year ESE Electrical engineering papers. You can refer to Made easy solved previous years again.
4. . Solve previous year ESE Electronics engineering papers. You can refer to Made easy solved previous years again. Both in step 3 & 4 make sure you don't go out of CSE syllabus.
General Advice @ EE Optional :
Since EE as an optional is completely different from rest of the syllabus of CSE. So common doubt amongst the candidates is that what is the ideal time to study EE. Since the syllabus is huge it is difficult to cover it after Preliminary test like many other optionals. Just make sure your EE syllabus is complete at least 2 months prior to PT. Except immediate prior to PT never leave studying EE.
Dedicate at 33 % your time to EE between PT and Mains. keep revising and practicing if you are done with the syllabus.
